Stoked to have joined the Newave Team and am loving riding the new boards shaped by French legend Marco Copello. Newave are all about strapless riding with a kite and the 5'8 Play and 6'2 surf are going sick!
The Play goes super well in waves up to head + half high and rips in smaller stuff and chop. Its balanced really well and is great for airs and tricks. I have also paddle surfed it and it goes nice for a small board, is real loose and slashy but you need to be a good surfer to get te most of it or it will be too small.
The 6'2 excels in bigger waves and holds super smooth off the bottom even in windy choppy waves and releases nicely off the top. Great for waves from chest high to double overhead. Paddles really well too with quite a bit of volume so would suit an average surfer up to 85kgs as a all round surfboard.
Maxtrack have just taken on the distributor role in the UK so you will see them in the shops soon.
If anyone wants to test out the boards in West Cornwall, I will have a few in the van at all times so just ask when you see me at the beach and innovate your riding!

After testing conditions of light wind for the doubles in Dakhla where I dropped down from 5th to 9th and horrible onshore conditions in Lanzarote with some strange judging, I am now ranked 9th in the world.
Pleased to be back home now after 31/2 weeks away and the surf is pumping so gonna grab a pasty and get on it.
got plenty of things to practise and need to get out in conditions I wouldnt normally ride in before the next comp in Tenerife in August.
will upload pics and more info soon.
Thanks to all my sponsors- North kiteboarding, ION, C Skins, Freeriders, Wiley X & 9 Bar.
cheers

I am finally finished packing, 3 surf boards, 3 kites Rebels 11,9,7, 2 suits and a little bit of clothes ready to head off tomorrow on tour. First stop is Dakhla, Morocco then onto Lanzarote for the next leg of the 2011 PKRA world wave tour. After Lanza im off to Fuerte for a 10 day video and photo shoot for my new board sponsors Newave, www.newaveboarding.com . Exciting times but going to be hard work and lots of flying and hanging out in airports. On way back from Dakhla ive got to overnight in Casablanca, then back to Gatwick before flying out to lanzarote 3 hours later. Lets hope there are no delays or missing bags!
Will try and keep my blog up to date but you can check out all the info on the comps on the PKRA website www.prokitetour.com
Must say a big thanks to C Skins for giving me a slick new 3x2 wetsuit and ION for giving me an overknee shorty and reef boots. If your in the market for a new suit and surf as well as kite check out C Skins for sure www.c-skins.com and if you only kite/windsurf you must go for an ION suit with the extra protection www.ion-essentials.com
Have fun, looks like the wind is coming back to Cornwall next week!

Stalling and pulling in
Saturday saw some sick waves and my 2nd best session ever at our best and rarest spot- Porthleven.
After a few sick surfs there lately the conditions were right on sat 26th feb for a kite. Cross off winds, neap tides and decent swell all came together for a couple of sick hours with me gettting it by myself for the most part while it was cranking. As I hit the water Blackie was out windsurfing proving that it was windy enough for the 7 Rebel, no straps, perfect!
Lining up and almost getting slotted on a few I was soon by myself after Blackie got caught out on a set and washed onto the reef.
Lining up way behind the normal surf take off spot and then stalling as much as I could I got in on a few but not super deep as couldn't stall as much as I wanted with a real off shore wind and the wave grinding. After 21/2 hours I headed in as the wind dropped a bit and the swell started to drop off with the outgoing tide. I drifted my way back to the landing spot to find Willl, Dom, Smiler and Milson all on the beach keen as even thoug it was now only good not epic!
Check a few of the pics my bro took with his standard point n shoot camera. If only I can find out who the 2 guys were with big lenses, were on the pier. Could have a cover shot me thinks?
Stay tuned for more to come!
